The vision of Choreographer and Visual Artist Beth Powlesland, Built to Last – an exploration of movement and sound – was first created in 2011, within a framed installation of melting frozen paint balls.
Choreographically Lara explored mark making and worked with memories of childhood and place. As well as writing and recording text with Experimental Sound Artist Sion Orgon, who composed a 15 minute soundtrack for the 2011 presentation at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff in April.
The second staging of Beth Powlesland’s ‘Built to Last (II)’ took place at Tactile Bosch Studios, Cardiff, on 28 September 2012.
A one-and-a-half-hour installation performance, to an original sound score by Sion Orgon, with Choreographer Jessie Brett, and performers Beth Powlesland and Lara Ward.
